UPM ProFi material combines the best characteristics of wood fibres and plastic. The intrinsic properties of the material, low moisture absorption and good weather resistance make UPM ProFi especially suitable for outdoor applications.

UPM ProFi Deck decking board is the choice of professional installers. UPM ProFi Deck keeps its looks over time, because it is virtually free of lignin, which is the natural wood molecule that turns grey when exposed to sunlight. The high friction surface prevents slipping when wet. Available in several colours, it is an ideal solution for outdoor use in terrace areas and boardwalks for both in public and residential applications as well as many other challenging end uses.

Terrace by UPM ProFi decking board is the perfect solution for do-it-yourself installations and sold at DIY stores. Durable easy care decking is hardwearing and yet it is splinter free and comfortable for bare feet. It is quick and easy to install, no special tools or skills are required. Terrace is ideally suited to outdoor use in patios, garden decks, paths and balcony surfaces.

The Artek Pavilion exhibition space at the Milano Salone Internazionale del Mobile expo was presented by UPM and Artek exhibition in April 2007, followed by exhibitions in Helsinki and Miami. In June 2008, the pavilion was sold at Sotheby’s Important 20th Century Design auction for USD 600,000. A local curator bought the pavilion to be used as a portable and movable exhibition space.

UPM ProFi installation at Alvar Aalto Symposium. A group of students from the University of Art and Design designed and built a installation made of UPM ProFi for an international Alvar Aalto Symposium in Jyväskylä, Finland, 2009. In addition to the Floor and 10-UNIT SYSTEM, the students used round UPM ProFi Poles that rose from the floor to the ceiling and served as partitions. The poles are of 100 mm in diameter and can be manufactured in different lengths.
