UPM ProFi is a hardwearing wood plastic composite material with low moisture absorption. It suits especially well for exterior end uses.

Unlike conventional wood plastic composites, UPM ProFi is virtually free of lignin, the natural wood molecule that turns grey when exposed to sunlight. Because the material will not suffer from "greying" it has a good resistance to UV radiation. The colours of UPM ProFi will only fade slightly over the years and the products can be manufactured in light colours too.

The unique look and natural feel of UPM ProFi arise from the raw material. Shades of little paper flakes create a beautiful and vibrant surface, which is highly durable but still feels smooth and natural. The look and feel of UPM ProFi wood plastic composite is unique and does not resemble any other similar material available.

UPM ProFi has a very low moisture absorption which means a higher natural resistance to stains, mould and warping. Moreover, the material does not splinter.

When incinerated, UPM ProFi reacts similarly to untreated wood, although it generates far less smoke. UPM ProFi burns without fire sparks etc and creates no toxic fumes.
