UPM ProFi Inspiring Tom Dixon, Milan Design Week

UPM ProFi Deck and UPM ProFi Facade created stylish and exciting spaces launching British designer Tom Dixon’s new lighting collection at MOST in Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, 2012. Tom Dixon’s Luminosity showcase led visitors through imaginative and illuminated tunnels, boardwalks and spaces.

Tom Dixon always created interesting and engaging experiences. From his FAT chairs to the dazzling array of lights, Tom Dixon takes inspiration from the broadest range of materials and applications. At MOST his Luminosity exhibition was a pure adventure of fun and creativity.

Almost 1000 m2 of UPM ProFi wood plastic composite in decorative and stylish Night Sky Black and Snow Blue combinations were seen at Luminosity. Round each corner there was surprise – a new installation or use of lights and UPM ProFi material. There was no escaping from the fact that UPM ProFi's decking and cladding products were central to the exhibition space. The connectivity between the lights and the floors and walls was clearly considered and apparent. A sheer delight to visit and see how well wood plastic composite could be used.

Markku Koivisto, Vice president of UPM ProFi, finds design cooperation with Tom Dixon a perfect opportunity for UPM ProFi. - Design and innovative ideas has always been a core to our business and this is a good example how UPM ProFi composite can be used in a design environment. Also the place and setting in the National Museum of Science and Technology reflects' UPM ProFi's ideology to be the front-runner in technical materials.
