BAU 2019 Sees an increase in number of visitors and exhibitors – UPM ProFi showcased its sustainable decking range
BAU, the World´s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials and Systems, was held in Munich in January. The biannual event broke participant records this year. UPM ProFi was one of the international exhibitors.
- A record number of exhibitors 2,250
- 250,000 visitors, and 85,000 of them from outside Germany
UPM ProFi booth attracted over 1,000 visitors during the six days trade fair.
Journey showcasing deck performance
Customers were invited to join a UPM ProFi journey, showcasing what a high-quality WPC needs to withstand in a harsh environment, during its lifetime.
The journey at the booth consisted of an impact strength test with a bowling ball, decking boards submerged under water in a mini fountain, as well as a cooling feature for deck surfaces that are ideal for hotter climate environments.
Easy maintenance in combination with closed deck surfaces gained attraction from the audience.
Two new product innovations
Two special product innovations particularly convinced the audience that UPM ProFi, one of Europe´s biggest producer of sustainable wood plastic composites is a forward-thinking innovative company:
The Click System smart installation method; UPM ProFi has been awarded a “Special Mention” for a particularly innovative product by German Design Award. The UPM ProFi Vision boards with CoolDeck™ technology absorb up to 35% less heat than traditional WPC deck board.
Since 2007, UPM ProFi has been a pioneer in giving high quality and long lasting second life to materials that would otherwise be landfilled or incinerated.
The next BAU takes place from January 11 to 16, 2021 at the Messe München Exhibition Center.
