Please ensure that you meet the requirements of the local building regulations. Depending on your location and the size of decking there may be planning permissions required by the authorities. Normally we do not recommend building the deck yourself but if you decide to do it yourself, please take care and at our guidelines to understand how to lay decking boards properly.

1. Choose the right deck - find inspiration and ideas

Our composite decking family offers a choice between the fresh and clean look of UPM ProFi Deck 150, and the rich hardwood tones of UPM Piazza. 2. Plan and design a deck - with our Deck Planner

Plan your deck carefully before laying the deck boards. Composite decking is free of knots and other visual defects found in timber, so less wastage is incurred. However, accurate planning will help to optimize the material quantities needed. Creative design is enabled by our Deck Planner, which also produces a detailed list of the amounts of materials needed and a drawing of the decking sub-construction. 3. Where to Buy the deck materials and accessories - ask from your local retailer

Our complete range of products is available throughout Europe from professional distributors of timber and building materials’ products. Search for your nearest distributor in the UK. Brochures, samples and technical advice can also be found from these companies. 4. Build the deck - by a professional installer

How to build the deck? Is the ground soft, should the deck be raised? What kind of joists should be used? What is the correct joist spacing? In many ways installing composite decking is similar to installing a timber deck. However, there are a few specific ways in which the material behaves differently than timber, and the installation instructions should always be followed closely. We recommend always using a professional installer when installing a composite decking. We do not recommend building the deck DIY.
