Unlike traditional timber decking, UPM ProFi composite deck boards does not splinter, split or deform over time.
As all other WPC decking boards, UPM ProFi deck boards expand and shrink depending on the temperature changes. For this reason, expansion gaps must be considered during installation. For further information please see the installation instructions and technical data sheets below.
We have cleaning instructions on our website. There you will also find a downloadable PDF file with full instructions.
UPM ProFi deck boards all have a closed surface and don’t need to be oiled or painted. The only maintenance needed is periodical cleaning.
The off cuts of UPM ProFi composite decking boards can be disposed with normal household waste or recycled to energy. Unfortunately, no pan-European collection service exists to gather off-cuts or material from old decks for recycling to our factories: this is an aim for the future.
No, our products are non-toxic and don’t contain any harmful substances. The decking does not splinter, and the surface has high friction, wet or dry. Please note that the dark decking boards get hot in the direct sunlight, on warm summer days. UPM ProFi meets safety standard for materials used in toys, EN 71-3.
No PVC is used in our deck boards. All UPM ProFi deck boards are made from PP or recycled PE.
Like other decking material, UPM ProFi deck boards will get warm if exposed to direct sunlight. If your deck is exposed to direct sunlight, it is recommended to choose light colours, as they heat up less than dark colours.
Unlike other decking materials, UPM ProFi is virtually free of lignin, so it will not grey. A light fading in colour is normal for our UPM ProFi Deck 150 deck boards. For UPM ProFi Piazza and Vision we give 25 years guarantee on fading. For more details please see our Technical Data Sheets.
